I'm not sure it can. Normally, Micro$oft only supports Micro$oft. But you can export as an excel spreadsheet from openOffice

And you can also install OpenOffice on your Windows computer at work.

if you didn't save the file as an excel (.xls) file while in openoffice on ubuntu, then you'll need to install and run openoffice on your windows machine at work. openoffice is free for all operating systems.

currently microsoft products do not support Open document formats (ods, odt ...) Therefore you need to go back into openoffice and change the saving format to xls. Then email it again. Microsoft however has said that they will start to support the open document format in the next version of office so we are making progress.

When saving from OpenOffice, just choose a windows-compatible .xls format (like for Office97/OfficeXP/...) instead of .ods.

Save it as an *.xls file. Press "Save as" and you will see the option at the bottom of the window.

There are odf importers that you can download and install for office that allow you to import spreadsheets in odf format. Without knowing what "ubuntu format" you used it's hard to say more. Sun puts out one odf importer for office and there is one opensource for on sourceforge. They have various limitations as I recall.

Assuming you meant Openoffice or another odf format, here are the links to the plugins:
    http://odf-converter.sourceforge.net/download.html
    http://www.sun.com/software/star/openoffice/

Sun's plugin is not free software as I understand.
