Access Files on a Windows machine

    Hi There,

I have recently installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop and am trying to access files over my network that are on an XP machine. what do i need to install to do this (Samba, smb)? Do i need to do anything on my XP machine other than share a specific folder?

A link to a tutorial on the web or other detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated

Yes, share a folder on your windows machine then connect to it via "Places".

Thanks! the problem was that i didn't have file sharing set up correctly on the WinXP machine. I hadn't used it in a while and forgot that i never set it up.
