Laptop Monitor won't turn off when folded in kde

I have a linux certified 64 bit laptop running Hardy Heron 64. I also installed the Kubuntu desktop.

When running Gnome, when I close my laptop up, the screen turns off, as a laptop should. When running kde, however, it does not. It stays on until my screen timeout 5 minutes later. (I double checked by simply pressing the button under the screen to confirm my suspicions).

Is there a utility I need to install in KDE to do this? Or some setting I need to set?

Overall, it seems my KDE desktop seems less aware its on a laptop than my Gnome desktop. Are there laptop settings somewhere in KDE I can change?

Check your power management settings in KDE... However I don't use KDE so I apologize as I don't know how to get to them.
