Active Hardrive Partion for Hard Drive?? Ubuntu?

On my computer I have a 230Gb Hard drive, it's broken up into 2 partitions. One is the C drive which is 127Gb and and the other is the E drive which is 104Gb. The C drive is active and primary, and the E drive is just primary and the status is none. I want to install Ubuntu in the E drive. My question is what is the easiest way to do that with wubi? Does the drive have to be primary and active?
