I recently tried the wipe command off of Knoppix to wipe an entire internal pri slave drive. During the operation, the prog froze up in the middle of wiping, and I had to reboot. Now, the drive head continually makes a clicking sound, bios won't recognize it, and I've done everything I can think of in cmos to make it work. Right now, during boot up, cmos freezes for a while, then eventually boots without seeing the drive. The command, if I remember right, was "wipe /dev/hdb" (no partition number as I wanted the entire drive wiped). I don't have another computer to test this drive in, but other hdd's work fine, including the pri master I also wiped. Did I screw up the low level formatting of this drive? Thanks in advance!
