I have problems installing sun webserver 7 on ubuntu 8

donwloaded the 64bit jdk6u7 from sun and the 64bit webserver7u3 from sun

Well, this is the sun installer failing here. If they say it's ubuntu, they'll at least say what the issue is.

(The sun forum seems to be having some troubles it self, i can not login. )

Do you also have the same setup failure on your ubuntu ?

Don't know, but getting java browser plugin to work on 64bit was a pain and I don't feel like experimenting with it again. Sorry.

Please try
$sudo apt-get install libstdc++5

If you get an error /bin/domainname not found, you need to

$sudo apt-get install nis

I have tested on Ubuntu 9.04.

Meena,

I have posted on your blog, too. I cannot get this working on Ubuntu 9.10, Karmic Koala. Have you tried yet? It looks like they have moved to libstdc++6, and libstdc++5 is not available.
