List your FOSS programming projects here

    Hey all,

I thought it would be fun to get a list of the programming projects that the members of this forum are working on (or have worked on).

So go ahead and post your projects, brief description, level of involvement, linking to websites and code.

I know a few of you link to your projects in your sigs, but I think it would be good to have listing thread. And it would serve as a good place to look for FOSS projects to contribute to, for those who are looking to do so.

    • Net Responsibility is Internet accountability software for Linux. I'm the principal author. It's primarily written in Ruby with some Python mixed in, and there will soon be a tiny smattering of Bash, too. It's licensed under the GPL.
    • BadgeEntry is attendance software for childrens' events. Key features are: a) The ability to print badges which include pictures and barcodes; b) Support for badge scanning stations; c) It's web-based, so it can scale as needed. There's no real access control, though, so it should be kept on a private network. BadgeEntry is written in PHP5 using the Code Igniter framework. I'm the sole author. All of the code is open source; most is under the GPL.

    http://LearnPython.pbwiki.com - learn Python wiki
http://code.google.com/p/game-baker/ - Game Baker, visual game editor, easy enough for children and fun enough for adult game creators. This is in cooperation with couple other forum members, more are welcome. We are looking for game testers and graphics designers (for sprites).

And I have couple more ideas, some done, just not enough time to post them.

Suggestion: Can we link this thread from FAQ, section "how I can contribute to FOSS"? Maybe other people will read FAQ (ehm - I can hope, no?) and decide to join some project.

And possibly project authors can state if they are looking for developers/contributors.

if you have ideas/work in progress, why not post them anyway - maybe someone will be inspired.

not a bad idea, hope the mods will pick it up.

also sounds like a good idea to me.

    Here's what i've got:

    http://pykeylogger.wiki.sourceforge.net/ - a cross-platform keylogger (win or x11), written in python

http://ubuntuzilla.wiki.sourceforge.net/ - automatic mozilla software installer for ubuntu, to install latest mozilla builds of firefox, thunderbird, seamonkey. (especially useful for older versions of ubuntu that come with old versions of mozilla software in the repos)

http://attachreminder.wiki.sourceforge.net/ - attachment reminder extension for thunderbird - scans text of outgoing email for keywords, prompts if it looks like you forgot an attachment.

    Ok here goes:

    http://sourceforge.net/projects/gamepower/ a game development library
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/isoccer/ a nice soccer game for linux/win
http://ubuntu-gamedev.wikispaces.com/ a good beginning guide to linux/ubuntu games development
http://ubuntu-utils.wikispaces.com/ a Python based DEB package creator GUI

I try to do as much with all of these as time allows but sometimes I think I might have bitten off more than i can chew
