Image viewer that allows to pick the best shots

Is there an image viewer, preferably a nice one, for Ubuntu (or maybe even the defaults can handle that issue), which allows to pick the best shots, by pressing some kind of a button, or whatever, while looking through the photos? That's a really handy feature of i.e. ACDSee or Lightroom in Win.

F-Spot has a favourites tag. To make something a favourite you just drag the "Favourites" button on the left hand side onto the picture and it will automatically set it with the "favourites" tag. Then you just double click on "Favourites" to bring up all your favourite pictures.

Or right click on the picture > Set Tag... > Favourites will do the same job. It's easy to do and works well.

Thanks for that. Any other advice? (I don't really like using Fspot)
