[SOLVED] Graphical glitch when trying to install ubuntu.

Ok I didn't get very far when trying to install ubuntu.

I have installed kubuntu 7.10 without any problems in the past.

However when I came to install ubuntu 8.04 I got a weird glitch.

If anyone can give me a reason why this may be I would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome, what is the model of the graphics card ? and could you post a smaller size pic next time

maybe you got an unsupported graphics card...try searching for problems related with your card when using linux....or if you have an onboard graphics controller(apart from the pci graphics card) try plugging your monitor to it

I'd think that any hardware supported in Gutsy should be supported in Hardy, eh?

You can press F4 at the Ubuntu Menu Screen when the CD first boots and use "Safe Mode" then install your vid drivers after you have the system installed and working.

Ok back on topic...I might have had different hardware last time...I can't quite remember when I change my motherboard etc...

My graphics are Intergrated VIA Delta Chrome Graphics...then come in built with my motherboard (ASRock P4VM900).

Thank you for all your comments also I will take a look at some of these things tomorrow when I will have more time.

I'll do some digging around, VIA is notorious for being a pita to get working, but recently they have released some new drivers. For now a safemode install will get you up and running, you just wont have any hardware acceleration though.

stay tuned I'll post back more info and where to get drivers in just a few minutes.
