Connecting Ubuntu laptop to XP Desctop wirelessly

    Hi guys

I have a bit of a problem, i got 2 XP PCs and a Ubuntu laptop.

At the moment they are all wired together however i want to connect the PC that has the Internet connection wirelessly to the laptop so i can cut out PC2. The reason for that is because at the moment PC1 is connected to the Internet and PC2 - wired. PC2 is wired to the laptop and the 2 network connections on PC2 are bridged to get the Internet on both the Laptop and PC2.

Now i bought a D-Link DWA-556 Wireless N PCIe Adapter which is in PC1 and now want to setup a wireless connection between PC1 and the laptop.

I have tried everything but i cant seem to see the wireless connection from the laptop.

I checked with an old XP laptop and it is there.

On PC1 i have setup and ad-hoc network connection for the wireless.

Do i need to bridge that with the wired connection to PC2 so that keeps the Internet too.

Hope this is not too confusing.

Let me know if you got any suggestions/questions

    Thanks
    Vasco
