section composite in xorg.conf

hi,

i've got some kind of behaviour that i can't solve:

if i enable translucency it tells me after an x-server restart, that i should enter a new section in my xorg.conf.

this section is to be:

Quote:

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection
as soon as i enter this section, x-server won't start anymore.

and i guess that i just don't know something here.

here is my complete xorg.conf in which i have commented the "extensions" section.

thank you for your help in advance.

Re: section composite in xorg.conf

Since you are using "nvidia" in Section "Device", you should comment out Load "GLcore" and Load "dri" in Section "Module" by putting # in front of them. Also add to Section "Device" these two options:
Option "RenderAccel" "true"
Option "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"

I have GeForce 6600GT and these options work OK for me. Some people report system lockup when using "RenderAccel".

Here's my xorg.conf:
Quote:

# values from the debconf database.
