comfirmed, update from update manager solved issue. just run System > Administration > Update Manager

Doesn't funpidgin release updates? Anyway, I believe it uses the same libpurple, so you should be able to fix it by looking for the characteristic byte sequence and changing it (described above).

Regional mirrors are sometimes slow (could it be this slow?) Are you sure you are using the central server for updates?

Well, still no update even after I switched from a regional mirror to the main server :-/
