Sound Recorder

Hello all,

I've been trying to get my mic to work for the longest time and I feel as though I am really close. I have yet to get it to work though. The latest problem I have come across is when opening the app "Sound Recorder" (Applications -> Sound & Video -> Sound Recorder),
I get the following error message:

Your audio capture settings are invalid. Please correct them in the Multimedia settings.

How would I go about correcting them? I do not know where the multimedia settings are located.

Try setting input to capture, then file -> open volume control, edit -> preferences, make the capture tracks visible and increase them. If they don't work try other tracks, like digital.

Or does your program close immediately?

The program closes immediately except for showing the error message.

I have this error too, but I realized it was because NONE of my audio input worked. Try installing something like audacity and try recording there and see what you get.

EDIT; It is working after a restart. Try restarting.

It still doesn't work after a restart. I tried Audacity too, though I wasn't expecting anything. It has never worked in the whole time since I've installed Ubuntu, that's the one thing that I have yet to get working.

I really need this to work guys. I'll be going off to college soon and I need to be able to video chat with my gf.

I have this problem too. My built-in mic works only in RecordMyDesktop and in Sound Recorder it doesn't.

what is RecordMyDesktop? I've never tried that.
