July 2008 Desktop Screenshot thread

Well, in the last few hours I decided to mod the Aurora Aqua theme a bit...



Went back to Aurora's scrollbars, changed the engine of the tabs to Clearlooks (the gummy tabs are the best part of Clearlooks) and replaced the blue colour by a lighter tone. I'd also like to find something suitable for the window decoration. But for now I don't believe I have other projects in mind. This is the first time I'm using actual GTK engines to theme. So I might invest more in that field in the future. Elegant Brit was an exhausting experience (and I know there are still some bugs to solve).

Meanwhile... Any thoughts on the screenshot above? I might call the theme "Aurora Glow".

Nice theme, I dont mind what you call it, but can you please send it to me?

About the font, it's Calibri bold, size 8.

What line did you use to open 9menu? Whenever I try opening it 9menu says that it can't find the font.

I'm not sure what rjmdomingo is using, but I use the following:

9menu -popup -bg "#000000" -fg "#F2EDD7" -font "-*-nu-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*" -teleport -file /home/urukrama/.9menurc

You need to give a full X11 font string. You can find those with xfontsel (which should be installed by default on your computer).

No all of my fonts seem to be listed. Is there a specific folder they need to be in?

Here's my desktop:

I'm using a modified version of the default intrepid theme NewHuman (#272727 for the window background, the darkest color that doesn't cause OOo to use the high contrast inverse icons).

Emerald decorations made myself (the default metacity window decorations were too plain for me, I can upload if anyone cares).

Icons are Gray-ce-ful.

Conky is modified/compiled from a few different sources (can also upload if anyone wants it).
