What Is This?!

I`ve started my PC. It worked for a while then it.. the display turned into this, then "this" disappeared. What is this? I`ve seen such things when a VGA is overheated, but... you can`t screen-shot it, because it sends the signal directly to the monitor. But here... See for yourselves...
Observe the image well! The red things are even in the tray area and over the system monitor tool in my deskbar. What the hell is this thing?!

p.s. I am using ATI RADEON x80 XL on Dell Monitor (CRT)

Might be a loose video cable. Check your connection at the PC and the display.

I would actually check to see if the video card is seated well. That looks like a hardware issue.

It`s actually well placed, and all the cables are in place... And if it`s a HW porblem, would that appear on the desktop too, isn`t it only for the monitor???

Maybe your graphics card is damaged? Did it overheat recently or did you push your card with a high graphics game or something?

It looks like if you are using Compiz that the bars have become transparent.

try resetting the transparency of the task bars in CCSM.
