    USB sound

I just installed Ubuntu 8.04 and want to get my mic working. I plugged in Logitech basic USB mic and nothing happens. I tried in Sound Recorder mic and digital settings but nothing helps - no sound recorded!

    Please, help!

Is the problem unsolvable in Ubuntu?

    Re: USB sound

I hate Ubuntu! It took me 3 weeks to make a mic working! After that they will tell you that Linux is better than Windows. Windows may not be secure but it works out of box!

This is how I fixed it:

    1. First I found that my mic is AK5379 model. I used lsusb --verbose | less
    command for it

    2. In Audacity in settings I disable stereo under mic settings and what was the problem!!!!!!!

BTW, nobody even bothered to try to help me here - too bad!

    P.S.

I am able record sound, but I can not play it back in audacity! I can save it as wav fale and then I can play it. Any solutions?
