Greetings fellow linux fans.

My question relates to bit-torrent and networking etc. under the Hardy distro.

I am living in college at the moment. Just installed the new distro and all my friends are complaining that the network admin has "blocked" the usage of torrent programs........ and it works out of the box under hardy! (congrats to linux I might say)

What I want to know is why is Linux different to the win/mac users to allow such wonders... They even tried switching the ports on their computers clients to 8080 and 2121 (after my direction) and this also doesn't work. Is linux not doing something (or doing something sneaky) that their computers do?

I'm really curious- just another reason I made the switch 5 years ago...
