[ubuntu] [SOLVED] installing software

I downloaded osCommerce software -file:gcdb-1.1.6.tar.gz onto my ubuntu desktop.How to i install this?Thanks in advance...

edit: from what I've read about the program, your going to need a lamp server also.

Thanks.I have installed LAMP server.
--tried to install using the link provided,however i get the following error
~Desktop/gcdb$ make
make:***No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop


What do i do now...?

reckon its a source file..

Go to the CVS directory and try the make command them.

cd CVS
make

If it does not work can you list all files of CVS folder.
