FOSS Digital Camera

Hey All -

I am looking for a Camera that is either fully compatible with Ubuntu.

Preferably, it would run completely on Free Software or have Free Software available for it, but I will settle for one that works 100% with Ubuntu.

So any Free Software cameras out there?

Many cameras will work fine with linux/ubuntu. The main brand to stay clear from would be Kodak though... If you are really that worried that your camera will not work on linux, a little google searching on the model you plan to buy will tell you if it works or not. But remember, if the camera doesnt work on linux, just keep the receipt and return it

Well... what do you mean "software" Most cameras will connect through USB. If the camera makers use standard USB convention when creating the cameras (which kodak don't) Then linux will be able to see and mount the Camera via USB, and copy photos on and off of it.

I am talking about the Operating System of the Camera. I am looking for a camera that has its operating system, or firmware, licensed under GPL.
