    boot Windows XP ISO from Xubuntu

    how do I do this? is there a way to make GRUB boot an XP ISO? my laptop has no bootable USB capability, no CD-ROM, no nothing

    That's assuming you have a floppy drive.

    If I understand what you are trying to do right, http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ will do that. That's linked right from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/In...tion/FromLinux

    Otherwise if you just want to boot the iso for some reason qemu or other emulators can do that easily.

    I took out the hard drive, put it in a desktop, installed it, worked great. (Linux configures itself automatically, XP DOES NOT)

    I do the same for XP, put it back in my laptop, and as expected, nothing shows up, nothing loads..
