    i810: unable to set refresh rate higher than 60Hz

    Hello all!

    I read this useful HOWTO but can't correct my problem...
    Maybe someone can help me! The problem is, I only get a frequency refresh
    rate of 60Hz and can't set it to 75Hz.
    I now, that my monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 710N) can work with this
    refresh rate. And with vesa driver it's work!
    But with intel it doesn't...
    I'm using video card: VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82865G
    Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

    I've personally experienced the problem of being stuck at one refresh rate with my own SyncMaster monitor. Which tool did you use to determine the modeline? gtf.c worked well for me, but I'm using an NVIDIA card.

    I don't know if xorg.conf is case-sensitive, but you might want to try Modeline instead of ModeLine.

    SOLVED: i810: unable to set refresh rate higher than 60Hz

    All what you need to do that change upper limits of HorizSync and VertRefresh. You need to set it some higher than in monitor specifications and of course write correct modeline:

    If this helps. I had the same issue with an install on an old GX110 with an onboard Intel 810 chip. I read all the posts here., and found that all I needed to do was add the Vert and Horiz settings in the monitor section. I found these just by plugging in the monitor type/modle number in a google search. I did not need toadd modes, or other values elsewhere. Just the vert and horiz values were all i needed.
    Thanks to all before me who posted help on this. I am new to ubuntu, but really excited that it seems to work well and is a great combination of windows/unix

    Hi there! I am using Hardy and I have strange problem with my refreshing rate: I cannot set it higher than 60 (range is 56-60) but ACTUALLY it seems to be higher (at 56 it would flicker much more than it does now).
