    Proper way to install e17?

    Hello.
I have, during some time now, tried to install E17.
It have been a pain, every repository i try, installs E16!
I what E17 looks like, and i am quite confident that my desktop is not it.
I have no shelves, i have some ugly bar at the top of the screen and two desktop switchers at the bottom.
Theese are just a few of the guides i have been following:
    http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-inst...in-ubuntu.html
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=546746
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=20216
    http://timony.com/mickzblog/2008/04/...ntu-revisited/
All of them install E16 on my computer, and i already have E16, how do i get rid of it?
The only one i have not fulfilled is the one where i compile from source, it took 7 hours just to compile 8 of 72 items, then i gave up.
So please, PLEASE, where and how do i install E17?!?

    hello,

    have a look here:
    http://opengeuwiki-en.intilinux.com/..._from_packages

You don't have to do everything explained there:
just add the the first repo key and enable the dunnewind.net repo (see using synaptic part)
than click on the reload button in synaptic and search for e17. and you can check it to install it.
