openoffice 2.4 in gutsy 7.10

Hi,

has anyone been able to install a stable oo 2.4.1 on gutsy?
I have followed the directions in:

This removed OO 2.3 and install 2.4.1
However OO 2.4.1 was extremely unstable and froze and crushed on every other document. So I had to wipe it and go back to 2.3.

Anyone had this experience ?

Strange, I've always used the official (Sun) version from the OOo web site since 2.0 and it has always worked fine. You can try to rename your OOo user profile (~/.openoffice.org2), perhaps the difference in the configuration files has an influence.

I have used this type of procedure and it works fine.
