    Wisps around windows...

Just curious...what is the purpose of the wisps around the windows? I know it looks cool, but i haven't heard anything of it...it just appeared (I think) in 8.04. Also, there must be some image that it uses as its "background" since the wisps remain stationary, and the outline of the window seems to move around this background image. Is it part of Compiz?

    just curious...

    thanks

Superbenny, sounds like you have reflections enabled. Try:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Then go to System->Preferences->Advanced Desktop Effects and disable Reflections.
Don't try to make something "fast" until you are able to quantify "slow".

Yup. That's the reflections plugin. If you like it but want to modify it, the instructions above are correct except rather than disabling it you can configure it.
