I am impressed how easy it was to install Ubuntu from your CD onto my MacBook (Core Duo) using Parallels Desktop. I have now running Mac Tiger, Windows XP Home and Linux Ubuntu at the same time. Magnificent!

I have been wondering about Parallels. It's good it works. Though i would like to know if you have had any issues with heat. My macbook pro gets very hot (i know there are help pages out there but i'm a nervous noobie) and was wondering if running it through Parallelshad the same effect?
Hmm, I've been using Vmware Fusion, which I find quite similar to Parallels (I have used both), and have run XP Pro, and Ubuntu with no huge issues. The only complaint I have is that there is no 3D effects available when using virtualization software. It is painless to install an OS using Vmware or Parallels, and besides them running a bit sluggish on my MacBook, they still work fine.
EDIT: And about solitaires experience with heat, no I have not experienced any heat issues, however, it does seem to run a little bit hotter after extended use, which is fairly typical.
However, I don't own a MacBook Pro, mine is a 13.3 inch MacBook, 2.0Ghz, 80Gb HD and 1GB of RAM.

I have just taken the cheaper option and installed VirtualBox and ubuntu within that. No more heat issues although i cannot install using the command line (ie; sudo apt-get install ...) but internet connection is fine. Think i need to learn a bit more.
