ati hd 2400 help

i have an ati 2400 pro installed in my system, i have been trying to get ubuntu to recognise it and it seems to have worked, but my computer will only let me go up to 800x600 resolution which is not good and it sucks to work with, please could someone help

A tip: I'm using an ATI HD2600Pro so I chose the envyNG driver to be able to use compiz too. I tried all drivers, but it's the easiest to configure.
