Is it possible to share internet connection on Ubuntu with a Mac via firewire?

I have an iMac that has a burned out ethernet port and I have been using a USB 1.1 port for my internet connection, which works but is very slow sometimes. I also have an old Dell Dimension 4100 with the lastest version of Ubuntu. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to share the internet connection of the Ubuntu computer with the Mac using a firewire connection.

    iMac Power PC G4 OS X 10.4

Thanks in advance to whomever can help!
