I like the feature and I hope that this feature means that gnome is moving towards using facial recognition as means for login. I liked that about lenovo notebooks preinstalled with xp. It would be cool in linux.

Do they plan on packaging GDM 2.22 or 2.24? 2.22 was a major rewrite so it got omitted from Hardy LTS.

I am guessing GDM 2.24 since the Face browser is only just about to be added to the GDM trunk branch and it is slated to be included II.

It seems they skipped having 2.22 of GDM in stable b/c of the rewrite. Maybe not stable enough? Just making guesses though. I is available through the gnome ftp though under stable. Contradictory info!
