Does World of Warcraft require administrative privileges?

If not, ditch the antivirus and just make yourself a limited user.

I remember when I instaled it on vista (before i wiped that) I had to run as admin to install it... but playing it i could be limited, how would I go about making myself a limited user.

Edit: You can still be infected with an internet connection and not browsing.
Stop spreading FUD. With SP2 Microsoft took security a little more seriously, and disabled all services by default. Most people are behind a NAT device too nowadays, so that takes care of the 'getting pwned from some random worm' issue.

The main reasons people still get infected are:
-running as admin (just create a limited user account, you're just playing WoW FFS)
-using IE (use Firefox instead, with noscript if you really want to be secure)
-installing random shiny crap from the interwebs (I'm assuming -gabe-noob- is smart enough not to do that)
    -not having automatic updates enabled

Antivirus software causes more issues than it solves, except if you're the type of user that executes random executables from the internet, in which case antivirus will protect you most of the time, until you finally run something that's not detected by your antivirus software yet.

You need to create a new limited user, and use that user to play wow. If you still need to run something as admin, you can rightclick the exe and pick 'run as' to make it run as the admin user.
