    Viewing news groups

    how can I view news group sites?
    example:
    news://....../...

    Not sure if I understand your question, but I think you need a newsreader like Pan or Knode. Either of these programs will give you the same thing you get on Google Groups, but much more easily.

    If you mean news feeds from websites, then you just need to click on that orange thing at the right of the address bar in Firefox.

    If I try to enter any link that starts with news:// instead of http://
    I get,
    Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (news) isn't associated with any program

    so I use Pan or Knode ? or is there any Firefox add-on ?

    Where did you see news:// ? I'm curious, because I don't think I've ever seen it.

    Are you thinking of http://news.google.com?

    You could also try Google groups http://groups.google.com. The archive all newsgroups. But, really, the easiest way is with Pan or Knode. I think Thunderbird has a newsreader, too.

    Thunderbird might be able to handle a URL. I don't know if Pan can or not.
