Lost use of "p" key in terminal

After a recent update to Hardy Heron I can no longer use the "p" key in gnome terminal. All other keys work fine. I have tried every US/English/Western option for character encoding in the terminal, I have checked to make sure the p key is not assigned as a keyboard shortcut, and the p key will not work.

Obviously the p key works here and in all other applications, it just will not work in gnome terminal.

Does it work in other terminal emulators? For example xterm (installed by default).

Yes, the "p" key does work in xterm.
It's not really a big problem since I can still use xterm for command line stuff.
I just can't figure our why this one single key will not work in gnome terminal.

Nevermind, you found the solution or nevermind you give up?

If xterm works something with Terminal config.

If fixed then please show solved by going to top of topic in Thread Tools selecting Solved.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
Nevermind, I realized that the original poster had already tried what I was going to suggest (check the keyboard shortcuts).
