    You have Linux in sda2 and sda5. Which one is Ubuntu or which one contains the file system?

    Edit menu.lst and change 'groot' and 'root' of Ubuntu to (hd0,1)

    sudo nano /media/sda2/boot/grub/menu.lst
    Make changes,
    Save: Ctrl+o
    Exit: Ctrl+x
    Reboot.
