Red face Netgear WG311 v3 Yikes and Help Me Out of This one

    Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen--

I have a 64-bit PC running Hardy Heron 64-bit, with a Netgear WG311 v3 wireless card. It's running the 64 bit driver no sweat, connected to a router with WPA set up on it (the router is a netgear WGR6414 v6 router, IIRC).

On my wife's XP laptop she has a DLINK DWl-G650 wireless card connected on the same router. Both machines talk to the router no problem, though sometimes the Hardy PC takes a little prodding.

Anyway, when my wife's computer is on, and I turn on the Ubuntu computer, the wifi will not connect at all on it until I unplug the wifi on the XP laptop and restart Ubuntu. After the wireless gets going on the Ubuntu PC, my wife can reconnect to the network with no problems.

This seems like an Ubuntu problem to me, as it doesn't do this when both computers are running Windows.

Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Cheers!

Have you checked for updates for your netgear WGR6414 v6 router?

Yeah, I updated the firmware on the router to the most recent version.
