    I suggest you burn all your purchased iTunes content to cds using windows to have a backup, then rip them to whichever music player you choose to use. Otherwise, you could try an iTunes DRM breaker like JHymn.

    Best way to do it is to get a CD-RW and burn all your M4P files to cd play format and the rerip them. This is the easiest way to get around the DRM crap. Use a CD-RW so you won't waste so much money on disks.

    I`m pretty sure mplayer will transcode iTunes music as you play it. Not sure how to get that working though.
