Converting Avi to mpeg 2

So what i want to do is convert movies that are stored in Avi to Mpeg 2 so i can burn them on to a dvdr right now im using Devede which is burning is able to convert them into iso image and burn there and it works but i want to do it in mpeg 2 so i can use on other dvd players that dont support iso

Check out WinFF, it's an app that uses ffmpeg to convert just about any format to any other format.
