Civilization IV

I am a huge fan of the civ series since early civ II. Lately i have taken to playing freeciv in ubuntu breezy because im to lazy to run windows for civ III. As civilization IV has come out this week I was wondering if anyone has attempted or plans to attemp to play it in breezy, through wine or wineX, I avoid cedega because i don't want to pay the fees. Its half the reason im on ubuntu. Anyway I would like to find out the status of playing Civ IV on Ubuntu.

Re: Civilization IV

People can get it to install, but they can't run it. I think it has something to do with the copywrite protection. Err... that's on cedega.

Re: Civilization IV

doesn't work YET I'd say.

Also see http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-395945.html

Also I've heard people running this on windows98, I wouldn't give up hope of seing this working in cedega or even directxwine fairly fast.

"The Graphics Engine Civilization IV will be using is the NDL's Gamebryo 3D graphics engine. Firaxis' PC hit, Sid Meier's Pirates! also uses it.", and if I remember correctly pirates does work in some emulators.
