how do I log in as test user? (still confused)

    Hi all,

I was told by a moderator that my problem could be more easily solved if I logged in and/or created an account as a test user. How do I do that?

    Thanks, Rob.

Go to System>Administration>User and Groups, then create a new user account for testing. Log out and log back in as the testing user.

    Hi Pytheas,

Now I'm really confused. I can't find System>Adminstration>User and Groups

How do I navigate to that spot?

    Thanks, Rob

As long as you're using regular Ubuntu (i.e. not Kubuntu, Xubuntu or another variant), you should be using Gnome. In the top-left corner of your screen are the places where you click to access the Applications, Places and System menus. You want to click on the System menu, and when that's open navigate to the Administration submenu. Under that submenu is users and groups. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Alternatively, just press alt-f2 and type "gksudo users-admin" and it will open the Users and Groups management utility.
