[Ubuntu]Network Applet Annoys in Warcraft III Full Screeen

The Network applet (the one which tells you if you're connected, etc) in GNOME keeps flickering in full screen mode of Warcraft III. No other system tray icon or applet does this. Anyone know how to get rid of that? System tray icons don't flicker through full screen in Kubuntu.

I am experiencing this problem as well, using Ubuntu 8.04.1 and Wine 1.1.4 (special version for wc3 to allow hosting and mouse fixes). I can live with it flickering, but was wondering if anyone found a way to fix it?

Not a real fix but have you tried auto hide on the panel before launching the game?

I had tried quite a few things it seems that manually hiding the bar does the trick, as after I added seconds to the clock that was then making that appear over the top aswell. Also the strange part is that it only has this behaviour on my laptop, and not on my main machine.
