Angry [SOLVED] aMule Upgrade to 2.2.1

I know I am losing it but cannot fathom how to install the latest version ( 2.2.1 ) of aMule. Have downloaded the 2.2.1.tar.bz file and opened it up to aMule-2.2.1. Both on my desktop, but I have completely lost the way to install.I am scared to remove the previous version and reinstall in case I lose some of the downloads that are in progress - it has already taken me 2 month to get this far !!!!!

Don`t try to install from source, when there are builds for Ubuntu 8.04 ready for download on the aMule website. Saves you a little time.
