I think I have 8.04.1 installed

Hi, I'm running Xubuntu 8.04, with 2.6.24-19 kernal installed. When I was checking my system monitor I came across the System tab. It said that I have 8.04.1 installed. I have attached a screenshot so you can see. Its not even out yet!!!

Any ideas why this has happened? Has this happen to anyone else?

Possibly using a newer version of the Linux kernel. Is it even a problem?

No its not an issue. Its just abit strange that it has happened.

Why would the kernel version change the distribution version? Weird.

I still have ubuntu 8.04 btw but my local repos are 2 days behind:

So maybe this is a new thing.

You may have "Pre-released (hardy proposed)" checked in Synaptic, Settings, Respositories, Updates. When I tick that I see kernel -19 is available, when I untick it -19 is not listed.

I have the latest version of software installed from the repos. Updated this morning.

8.04.1 is just ubuntu with all updates included. if your machine is running good, i would not worry.
