    8-core Mac Pro

    Hey,

does Linux run on the new 8-core Mac Pro machines?

I need to run Fluent (CFD software) on an 8-core Mac Pro machine. Unfortuantely, Fluent is not supported by Mac OS X, which is why I have to use Linux.

My question is whether Linux can be installed on a 8-core Mac Pro machine? Any experiences or tips much appreciated.

What sort of problems do I need to expect? Is there a worry about Linux accessing all 8 cores "smoothly"?

    Best,

    Claudio

I think the biggest issues with Mac Pros is cooling. IDK that I would trust them under linux doing heavy work like CFD.

If fluent can be compiled on Linux, I am pretty sure it can run under OSX, but there may be some tweaking required. Don't they have UNIX support?
