    New monitor causing hangs

    Hi,
I've just got a Dell 2408WFP LCD monitor running at 1920x1200. My previous monitor was a CRT running at 1600x1200. The resolution wasn't automatically detected when plugging it in, so I reconfigured and choose the 2407WFP - the previous model - which had the supported resolution.

My problem is that my machine has locked up twice in one night since using the monitor - a vary rare occurrence. It seems to be happening when I'm playing video as well as having other things running. When I played a DVD and nothing else, it seemed ok.

This leads me to believe that the larger monitor and resolution are to blame. Could this mean that my graphics card is not up to the job?

I have an MSI Nvidia FX 5900XT 128MB (AGP). Which I would of thought would be ok.

I'm thinking of getting another card, but I don't want to spend the money if it's not needed.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jordan
