[SOLVED] OGG Player/dictation machine combo question!

    Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy an Ogg player in the Republic of Ireland?
In particular a Ogg/dictation machine combo that will record into a file that Ubuntu will read. My current audio player/dictation machine combo only plays mp3 and it records to a file called .Act (I have not found any way to convert these .Act files in Ubuntu). Is there a particular brand that particularly concentrates in making music players/voice recorders ogg compatible?
    Bye.

    Hi,

Can these files be converted with mplayer? I hunted around for some samples but found none, can you post a sample somewhere?

I cannot help with the dictation bit but iRiver makes Ogg Vorbis players, I have an x20 and it is a fine piece of hardware!

    Hi andrew.46,
    I will try mplayer.
    Thanks for the iRiver tip.
Please find attached a .ACT file that my Mikomi voice recorder/mp3 player combo records audio to. The trick is to get this converted to ogg in Ubuntu!

    Hi again,

Thanks for the sample file. However MPlayer and any media player I have access to will not play it. Converting may be a bit of a battle I suspect.

Yes, it seems to be an exe file and not an audio file. The search continues...
