Question [SOLVED] TV Out completely missing in Hardy

    Hi Guys,

I have been using Mythbuntu to create a DVR server in my front room, initially with a Geforce 6600LE, but this died when the fan stopped, then melted

So, I went out and bought a 7300GT graphics cost on the cheap, and frankly I'm wondering if it was worth it. The first thing I noticed was that on boot, TV out would not show the BIOS screen. So I decided to press on with a clean install to see what happened....

Nothing. Using VNC (as the TV is the only thing connected to the PVR) and running nvidia-settings, I find that the card cannot find my TV. (It is a standard widescreen SDTV)

The first question is - has anyone had a similar problem that they have fixed? (Nothing I've found on Ubuntu Forums I've found has worked) and if so, how?

The second question (the one I'm dreading) - is it the hardware? (Inno3D 7300GT Graphics Card) - I realise it's a bit out of this forum's support, but any BIOS files of 7300GT cards that do work would be appreciated as I'd attempt a hack

    Any help gratefully appreciated.

    Tom

[solved] Re: TV Out completely missing in Hardy

    Ignore me - I had a dodgy S-Video cable.

Well it's good to know it's the hardware not the software...
