    Raid installation for server

    O.k. for my aunt and uncle who work for tru green chemlawn they need to have a file server. They want 2 hard drives in a raid 1 (or whichever one mirrors the first drive/automatic backup). I need to know how to install ubuntu onto raid. Extra points for ubuntu file server how to.

    Been thinking about building a raid 1 array. Haven't done much searching yet but I have found this. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...highlight=raid

    Its mostly about building a software raid 0 array but a lot of it applies to any type of raid array.

    It really depends on what files you intend to serve.

    If they will be using windows apps, you may want to consider a HW RAID card and setup under Windows with a ubuntu partition.
