Weird problem trying to change wallpaper

Yeah, so ever since this evening when i try to change my wallpaper either through the desktop or appearance i get a process called "gnome-appearance-properties" but i get 2 instances of it. When i'm scrolling up and down my wallpapers it's very choppy and when i try to click one, it doesn't work. The window kind of flashes and nothing changes. Oh, and i also get 86% cpu usage when i open appearances too. This happens when compiz is disabled also.

I've tried searching for people with similar problems but found nothing. I'm using Hardy.

Somebody should merge the threads. So far I don't know of a solution but it seems everybody started having this problem yesterday when the updates came out. It's probably a bug. In the meantime you can try changing wallpapers using your arrow keys.

Hey have you gotten it fixed yet? I fixed mine by enabling proposed updates in software sources. There was quite a bit to download, and I'm not sure exactly which one(s) did the trick, but it's working now for me.
