    Network Manager applet

I'd like to find out what the icons mean within the Network Manager applet. I'd include a screenshot with this question, but at the moment, I have no wireless networks nearby.

    • One icon is a disc shape, which I know means a password-locked wireless network.
    • When there is no icon at all, the wireless network is not protected.
    • A third icon is two monitors stacked together. I have no idea what that means.

There seems to be no indication of what the icons mean in any other the Gnome NM applet documentation that I've looked at.

You get the two monitors icon when you use the "Manual Configuration" mode.

    Re: Network Manager applet

Hi dizee, thanks for your response. So, since the icons are appearing automatically beside any wireless signals that Hardy is picking up, does that mean I would need to manually configure to actually be able to use the signal? How would I know what settings to use, when I don't know anything about the signal that I am seeing?

    Thanks.
