It looks great, but if I had a UMPC (or when I have one I think I'd prefer using a normal Gnome interface with one minimal panel and use Gnome-Do for quick access to applications and disk locations.
The sole meaning of life is to serve humanity
To me, GPL still means Grand Prix Legends...
Currently the Netbook remix will be available only to OEMs. We have to wait for the free version
[Arch + KDE]
I'm pretty eager to try this out. I wanna run it on a regular laptop and see how it performs

So, in the last couple of days, both of these products have been announced. A version of Ubuntu for Atom based notebooks and an Eee PC that will use the Atom processor.
Personally, I'm really excited, and can't wait to grab an Eee PC 1000 later this year and throw this new Ubuntu on it
What'd be really cool is if Canonical worked out a deal with ASUS to preload UNR on the new Eees... But now I'm just dreaming.

Just read the piece on Ars on Netbook Remix and my first thought was how much I want that tabbed window on my full size desktop monitor too! Very nice.
I suppose that UI can be done in your regular Ubuntu?
Remember: With great power comes great current squared times resistance.
There's an article on Arstechnica about Ubuntu Netbook Remix, an Ubuntu version specifically tailored to the new cheap and small laptops such as the Asus Eee PC.
It looks like a really nice version of Ubuntu for those devices.
Ubuntu 12.04
Yeah,
What I found a shame was about a year ago, a version for Intel ultramobile something or others was announced,
Now there a version for Nokia N800's
But you cant get/use them
Shame.
Soon ?
Jeff
I think it would be great if there was a Media Centre Remix, similar to the Netbook Remix.
