He's the only one with server access, so in the event that there is something wrong not vB related (as there was tonight with table corruption), he's the only one that can fix it. The other administrators all get to play around with vBulletin, and the rest of us staff (mods) do post stuffs.

Am surprised you're not using InnoDB on a site this large (not a criticism, I'm just interested). I've seen quite a good comparison of the two engines, the following seems to apply to Ubuntuforums.org:

MyISAM? That sounds vaguely like a MS cloberring of ISAM, a file system available on the IBM mainframes I used in the '80s, which wasn't used by any of the programmers I associated with...

The admins are part of the Forum Council, they do a lot. The forum council is listed in a sticky in the FF&H I think.

In case anyone is wondering, another admin did gather more data on the problem and ubuntu-geek used my thread, which was based on a report in the FF&H about the database errors, and the other admin ran the test and got detailed output of the problem, and ubuntu-geek worked on the problem. Without the community member(s) that originally reported the problem, this issue wouldn't have been fixed so early.

I assure you, the other admins do a lot on the forum and all mods tremble in fear when we see an admin.
