    Question logon

Installed Ubuntu using Wubi - with absolutely no problems until I tried to logon. Tried 'root' with the password I had used with the Wubi installer. After no success with that I tried 'root' followed by 'me', which I seemed to remember I had seen somewhere; but again with no success. My keyboard is a French one (azerty) - which I have not yet configured for Ubuntu because I can't log in - so I tried all the above using the standard UK layout (qwerty) still without success. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Re: logon

I may have misunderstood, but when you tried "me", was that your name or me? If the latter, try your first name (default name) and the password you used when installing, and see if that works.

Ta, avtolle. Using both my default name and installation password has worked. Silly me.
